Grand Master Den Butler
Of the
Genshin Ryu System

In 2002 when I was invited down by a mutual friend to train with Den. I walked into his dojo and received one of the warmest welcomes I have ever received in my twenty something years of training, after spending some time training and talking to Den I decided to join his association and represent him in the east of England to this day.

Den is without doubt one of the open-minded and talented martial artist I have ever meet (even supporting me in my other arts, he attended my 4th Dan award for kyusho Jitsu, see the picture over) and it is a honor to call him my master my teacher and my friend.

In the mid 90s Den moved to Wiltshire, and today lives in the town of Melksham where he has his own full time Martial Arts centre, which is located at the Avonside Business Park, New Broughton Road. Melksham To date Den Butler holds the following grades all of which have been viewed and recognised by the Cobra Martial Arts Association (C.M.A.A.)

1st Dan Black Belt Judo.

1st Dan Black Belt Brithai Karate.

1st Dan Black Belt Kyusho Jitsu.

2nd Dan Black Belt Goshin Jutsu.

4th Dan Black Belt Shotokan Karate.

1st Dan Black Belt Iaido . British Kendo Association.

7th Dan Black Belt Genshin Iaido .

8th Dan Black Belt Ju Jitsu.

(not bad for a old fart)

Other achievements include,

In 2004 he submitted his style to the International Society of Head Founders & Head Families for review.

The I.S.H.H. recognised the style and appointed Den as Youshiki Soke (Western Founder) of Genshin Ryu Ju-Jitsu & Iaido.

Den Butler has also under gone a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Enhanced Disclosure check through the Education Authorities, this document has been reviewed by Andrew Morrell, President of the C.M.A.A. In 2006 Den became one of the directors of Cobra.
