The DEBS system of self-protection has been developed over 3 years of research and teaches the student not only physical self-protection techniques but also gives them the tools to de-escalate the situation to a possible non-physical conclusion.
Each of the 5 units of the self protection block is based over two 2-hour training sessions. To move on to the next level of training the previous must have been completed. In each session new and old concepts are covered with the under pinning legal knowledge in relation to self-protection but the course is not an information overload. All of the techniques complement each other and there are multiple options for each of the situations covered so people of any age and ability are able to complete the course.

Unit 1.1 Basic self-protection certificate. The first section trains the student in the basic principles of the D.E.B.S. system. After completion the student will be able to use the principles in a wide range of situations. (Suitable for 12yrs+)

Unit 1.2 Intermediate Self-protection certificate. The second course deals with the same principles as level one but more time is given to the emotions and body language that you project. (Suitable for 16yrs+)

Unit 1.3 Advanced Self-protection certificate. This is last of the student levels so by the end of the section the student will be competent in a wide verity of breakaway principles and de-escalation strategies giving them the tools to avoid many real world situations before they become physical. (Suitable for 16yrs+)

Unit 1.4 Self-protection Coaching Certificate. After completion the holder will be able to assist any D.E.B.S. instructors in delivering the course but will not be able to run a D.E.B.S. course. This will be carried out under the supervision of Chief Instructor for the South East Gary Johnson. (Suitable for 18yrs+)
